OUR DEMANDS
Over Fall 2020, students, faculty, and community stakeholders alike were outraged by the University of Michigan’s reopening plan. Student residences, particularly dorms, were subject to frequent outbreaks; and isolation and quarantine housing produced horror stories at its outset. As a student-led organization, we could not abide by the injustices students faced before and after the Fall term, and in consideration of the Winter Term Plan 2021, we will not allow previous issues to go unheard during this time.
For this upcoming semester, we are issuing a new set of demands to hold the University both transparent and accountable, not only for its students, but for all of its communities. Recognizing the changes that have been adopted for this term, we must continue to consider the issues that the University has entirely dismissed and bring those concerns to the forefront through a variety of collective actions and coalitions. That being stated, this is not a comprehensive list of our demands, simply a subset we feel is particularly pressing for this semester. As such, feel free to fill out this anonymous form with things you feel should be added or dismissed for the time being! We stand in solidarity of the students, by the students, and for the students.
